Who and What are the NERD's?

The NERD's are the illustrious members of the famous New Mexican's Engaged in Radio Discussions Amateur Radio Club. The members all originally lived in the Clovis-Portales metropolitan area of eastern New Mexico about 25 years ago.  Freddie, NERD #4, Bill, NERD #1, Judy NERD #9, and the honorary NERD #8, Tom , are the only NERD's to remain in NM and the others live across the country, and sometimes the world.

A handful of the members remain in contact today and look forward to their annual gathering, NERDvention.

This is my matching coil. It is located inside the truck on the dash. It is attached to the antenna with about four feet of RG-8X.
